FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
ELISHA D. SMITH PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
January 19, 2016

Called to order at 4:02pm by Crawmer
Present:           Coopman (4:05pm), Crawmer, Rollins-Jump (4:10pm) and Wicihowski
Absent:            None   
Also Present:  Director Lenz and K. Dreyer (Administrative Assistant)

Public Comment/Communication:  None

Action Items/Fundraising Efforts
    A. Approval of Minutes:  Wichhowski moved, Crawmer seconded to approve the Fundraising Committee minutes from January 4, 2016.  Motion carried unanimously.

    B. Chili Cook-Off: 
        • So far, we received sponsorship checks from Alliance Industries, Faith Technologies, Azco, Inc.  and United Paper.
        • We have gift certificates from Sabre Lanes, Gardenview Restaurant, Mi Casa,
B. J. Clancy’s, UR Washinstuff, Chef Fresh Pizza and Lake Park Pub.  Other donations include a blender from Kitz and Pfeil, 4 reserved seat ticket vouchers for a regular 2016 season home game from the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, earrings from Wild Apple, a children’s quilt from Gary Coopman and a family swim pass, water bottle from Swimtastic Swim School, books from Half Price Books, Performing Arts tickets to GlobalFEST on the Road – Creole Carnival and a basket from McLovin’ Pet Spa. Formal requests have been made to some businesses and others have said they would send us something.
        • Chili donor confirmations include:  5 O’Clock Somewhere, Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue, Waverly Beach, Best Western, Third Street Diner, Mihm’s, Copps, The Grog, High Cliff,  Riverwalk Hotel and Michiels Bar and Grill.   We are waiting to hear from The Source Public House, Holidays Pub and Grill, Wendy’s, Houdini’s Gastro Pub, Mary’s Family Restaurant and Cimarron. 
        • We have sold one table to Bits and Bytes, Third Street Market bought 5 tickets and The Revival will send us a check for a table.
        • Menasha Police Benevolent could be asked to sponsor or buy a table as well as the Neenah/Menasha Fire Rescue.
        • Wicihowski filled out a donation sheet at Manderfield’s Bakery for bread, cookies or gift certificate. 
        • Rhodes Bake ‘n’ Serve donated bread for the event.
        • Menasha High School will be able to play at the event but Boogie Ballroom will not be able to dance.  They will donate dance lessons. 
        • Mystery baskets containing gift certificates and miscellaneous items will be made. 
        • The event is posted on the following event calendars:  American Towns, WBAY, WLUK, WAPL, WHBY, 91.9 FM and the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau.  We will also promote on the library’s website, Facebook page, Constant Contact weekly newsletter  and monthly newsletter. 
        • Chris VanderHeyden volunteered to MC.
        • Chris Klein agreed to find people to serve chili.  Amanda Stuck will be serving. 
        • Rollins-Jump will donate a 8 ½ x11 frame for the winner of the chili cook off.  She will also speak with the owners of Aleesha Lanay Salon, Solea’s, & Tom’s Drive-in and Menasha Soccer Club.
        • Wicihowski will make up the center pieces. 
        • The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 4:00pm.

Adjournment
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 4:25pm was made by Wicihowski and seconded by Coopman.   Motion carried unanimously.
