FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
ELISHA D. SMITH PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
January 4, 2016

Called to order at 4:00pm by Crawmer
Present:          Coopman, Crawmer and Wicihowski
Absent:           Rollins-Jump    
Also Present:   Director Lenz and K. Dreyer (Administrative Assistant)

Public Comment/Communication:  None

Action Items/Fundraising Efforts
A. Approval of Minutes:  Coopman moved, Wicihowski seconded to approve the Fundraising Committee minutes from December 10, 2015.  Motion carried unanimously.

B. Smith Family Book Collection:
    • Tom Lyons, Thomas A. Lyons Fine Books, purchased 23 of the books.
    • Board member and Friend of the Library Joe Franzoi has sold books from the collection on eBay.

C. Chili Cook-Off: 
    • So far, we received sponsorship checks from Alliance Industries, Faith Technologies, and Azco, Inc.
    • We have gift certificates from Sabre Lanes, Gardenview Restaurant, Mi Casa, B. J. Clancy’s, UR Washinstuff, Chef Fresh Pizza and Lake Park Pub.  Other donations include a blender from Kitz and Pfeil, 4 reserved seat ticket vouchers for a regular 2016 season home game from the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, earrings from Wild Apple, a children’s quilt from Gary Coopman and a family swim pass and water bottle from Swimtastic Swim School.  Formal requests have been made to some businesses and others have said they would send us something.
    • Chili donors need to be lined up by January 15 so that we can include them on marketing materials. We have confirmations from 5 O’Clock Somewhere, Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue, Waverly Beach, Best Western, Third Street Diner, Mihm’s and Copps.  We are waiting to hear from The Source Public House, Michiels Bar and Grill, Holidays Pub and Grill, The Grogg, Wendy’s, Houdini’s Gastro Pub and Mary’s Family Restaurant.  Coopman will also ask Cimarron.
    • Wicihowski will contact Manderfield’s Bakery for bread. 
    • Menasha High School has not yet gotten back to Crawmer about music.  Boogie Ballroom will be asked to dance at the event. 
    • It was suggested that board members have business cards to give donors with a callback number. 
    • Mystery baskets containing gift certificates and miscellaneous items will be put together. 
    • The event is posted on the following event calendars:  American Towns, WBAY, WLUK, WAPL, WHBY, 91.9 FM and the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau.  We will also promote on the library’s website, Facebook page, Constant Contact weekly newsletter and monthly newsletter. 
    • Chris Klein agreed to find people to serve chili. 
    • Wicihowski will make up the center pieces. 
    • The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 19 at 4:00pm.

Adjournment
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 4:42pm was made by Coopman and seconded by Wicihowski.   Motion carried unanimously.
