New Business
Director’s Report

  • Winnefox Announcement:  On May 3, the board of the Winnefox Library System voted unanimously to select Clairellyn Sommersmith as its next Executive Director.  Oshkosh Public Library will be looking for a new director.
  • Summer Reading:  Our summer reading program will kick off on June 5.
  • Staffing Changes:  We will be interviewing for the librarian position this week.
  • Value of Service:  The Public Library Association has a calculator to quantify library services available.  Their calculator includes physical circulation, computer usage, meeting spaces, electronic resources and programming.  It still does not cover everything the library has to offer such as the makerspace, copying/printing, the library of things, games and puzzles.  As of April, the year-to-date value is $1,351,879.60 for those items that are quantified.

April Statistics
Statistics remain on the same track they have followed all year.  We are seeing growth in the new collections.

2023 Budget Status
Trustees reviewed the 2023 budget status.

Staff Reports

  • We are processing phase 2 of the library of things which will include outdoor items.
  • The final touches for summer programming are underway.
  • The Wisconsin State Park passes will be available May 30.

Our next Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 4:00pm.
