Going Bananas at Storytime
Miss Pippi — March 9, 2010 - 11:37am
We love fruit! We love bananas!
Bananas are yellow. They grow in trees. Monkeys like to eat them. But you can't keep a banana as a pet!
We got to be bananas in storytime while reading about Gladys and Monkey who loved to eat bananas. We also went to the jungle and found a banana tree! Along the way we sang about eating and oating apples and bananas. Join us next week for more storytime silliness. Visit Miss Ann and Mopsy on Monday at 10am or 6:30pm. Visit Miss Pippi on Tuesday at 10am. We hope to see you soon!
Japanese Doll Festival Celebration
Family Spot — March 3, 2010 - 6:01pm
Matsuri, Doll Day/Girl's Day in Japan. Students from the Menasha School District Japanese language program, with teacher Lynn Sessler and visiting Japanese student Saki Tatsuda, showed the children how to do simple origami, games, and crafts. Amy Bertram demonstrated how to make an origami kimono craft. We
put our many Japanese dolls into our display case, and then we had treats of green tea and rice cakes. This enjoyable program has become a tradition at the library.
