This book club is for kids who love to read.  The Ravenous Readers have a rumpus each month to discuss their books.

The Ravenous Readers Pin Program is a book club & reading program based on genres. 

When a child signs up for the program, they receive a reading folder and a bookmark to keep track of their reading.  Each child chooses one genre to read (from our list of 22 genres) and then chooses 10 books in that genre to read. We ask that they read books at their reading level or higher.  As they read, they write down the titles on their book mark and give the book a star rating between 1-5.  Once they finish all 10 books, they can bring their finished bookmark to the Children's Desk and recieve a special pin that corresponds to the genre they read.

As a way of sharing our love of books & to provide an interactive element for our Ravenous Readers, we'll be hosting a Ravenous Readers Rumpus once a month for our friends in the Ravenous Readers Pin Program.  These monthly gatherings will give children & the librarians (Miss Pippi & Miss Liz) a chance to share favorite (or not so favorite) books & genres, & to participate in book related activities, crafts and games.
