Happy Birthday America!

Our nation's birthday is coming up at the end of this week! We celebrated music and America at storytime today. The first book we read together was a brand new book, not yet on the shelf - Pippa at the Parade by Karen Roosa illustrated by Julie Fortenberry.

We celebrated music in America with three more books in song --

America the Beautiful by Katharine Lee Bates illustrated by Chris Gall

You're a Grand Old Flag by George M. Cohan illustrated by Todd Ouren

Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes illustrated by Jeannie Winston

A fun, family activity for the 4th is firework fingernails! Find red, white and blue fingernail polish and decorate your fingertips and tippy-toes! Mix it up with different colors and different stripes - a new twist on "Freedom" tip nails. Everyone can have fun with a little color to celebrate our country's birthday!

Just to let you know... the library is closed for the July 4th weekend - Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We'll reopen on Monday, July 6th at 8:30am. Miss Ann will be back for storytime starting at 10am. Have a fabulous 4th!
