Day One: Raising Readers

Welcome to the first day in Share a Story - Shape a Future blog tour. Today's theme is Raising Readers. Click on the image to find awesome articles about raising readers. The topics discussed today are reading at home, reading at school, gifted readers and so much more. Check it out!

Come on into the Children's Room at the library. Our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program starts your little ones on the road to being readers. We also ...

have booklists for grades K-5 and booklists under themes for preschoolers and school-age children. Some of the themes include cats, dragons and fairytales. There are also online booklists here.

We also offer storytimes throughout the year. There are three Family Storytimes to choose from right now, so stop on in Monday or Tuesday morning at 10am or Monday night at 6:30pm. School-age programs are also running year-round. Some upcoming activities include Poetry Fest, Mr. Billy, Rondini and a Visit with Ms. Frizzle. For additional programing, check out our calendar here.

Thank you for all the hardwork to the ladies and gentlemen who put this special week together. The Share a Story - Shape a Future image was created by Elizabeth Dulemba.
