Fun with Jack & the Beanstalk

We celebrated one of our favorite fairy tales on Wednesday in the Children's Room.

This Wednesday in the Children's Room was all about Jack & the Beanstalk, one of our favorite classic faiy tales.  Although we didn't have to defeat a giant up in the sky, we sure had  a fun afternoon!  We read the story of Jack and the Beanstalk with Miss Pippi before spending time at various activity stations.  Library friends spent the afternoon coloring, cutting, searching for treasures around the room and even eating dirt cake! (The recipe for dirt cake can be found below.)  For more fairytale fun, visit the 398 section of our nonfiction shelves or ask a librarian!

Thanks for joining us this week!  Next week the summer fun continues with a Peppa Pig book party on Wednesday August 7 at 1:30pm in the Children's Room.  Don't forget that this coming Saturday August 3rd is the last day to get a new bookmark and August 17th is the final day to turn any bookmarks in for prizes or to pick up your paperback book prize if you've completed 6 bookmarks.  See you soon, library friends!
