Enchanted: Gnomes, Elves and Fairies

We spotted a fairy and gnome or two during our Enchanted program on Wednesday afternoon in the Children's Room.

What better way to beat the heat than spend the afternoon in the library?  This week as part of our Dig Into Reading summer reading program, the Children's Room hosted an Enchanted party all about gnomes, elves and fairies!  We read The Tiptoe Guide to Tracking Fairies by Ammi-Joan Paquette before going off to try all sorts of fun activities.  Library friends tried their hand at gnome bowling, created fairy and gnome houses out of cardboard tubes, discovered their fairy & gnommish names, and tied a ribbon on our fairy tree.  We still have lots of fairy, elf, and gnome books to check out in case you missed the fun yesterday.

Next week Wednesday, July 24 we'll be hosting musician Stuart Stotts for an afternoon concert at 1:30pm.  Story Sparklers family story time continues Monday July 22 at 10am as well - see you soon!
