Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

We celebrated all things Seuss in the Children's Room Tuesday night in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday!

Dr. Seuss was the creator of some of our most beloved children's books, including The Cat in the Hat, Fox in Socks, and Green Eggs and Ham.  In honor of his birthday (which actually falls on March 2nd), the Children's Room hosted its annual Seuss-themed book party.  We began our evening with a reading of Green Eggs and Ham and followed it with a roomful of activities, including making our own Dr. Seuss cootie catchers as well as wockets in a pocket, matching and memory games, an I Spy activity, and a prize drawing.  We even had a bit of Dr. Seuss soup (goldfish crackers, m&m's, and cereal) before heading home!

We've still got lots of great Seuss books to check out in our display so if you missed our party or just can't get enough Seuss, stop in the Children's Room for a visit before they're gone!  Thanks to all our library friends who celebrated with us - we had a great time & we'll see you again soon!
