Tools, Tools, We Love Tools!

Hammers, saws, & screwdrivers, oh my!

This week's story time was all about tools.  Together we read about different types of tools and machines that help us build things like a birdhouse, a go cart, and even a new house!   Our books included Toolbox Twins by Lola Schaefer, The Construction Crew by Lynn Meltzer, I Love Tools by Philemon Sturges and Tap Tap Bang Bang by Emma Garcia.  We even tested out our hammering skills with the rhyme Johnny Works With One Hammer - we end up "hammering" with five hammers!  After story time, it was time for a toolbelt craft complete with paper pliers, saws, screwdrivers, and hammers to complete & take home.
