Fly Away With a Kite Story!

This week's story time was a celebration of kites!

We read, sang, danced, and rhymed all about kites in our Story Sparklers story time this week!  Kites are great for a windy day, but sometimes they can get stuck in a tree or even a rainstorm!  Our stories this week included Kite Day by Will Hillenbrand, a chapter from Little Chick by Amy Hest, Stuck by Oliver Jeffers, and Kite Flying by Grace Lin.  We sang along to "My Kite" from Piggyback Songs.  After story time was finished, we worked on making our very own paper kites!  With paper, crayons, & foamy stickers we made kites to decorate our rooms or refrigerators at home!  Story Sparklers family story time continues next week Monday, July 9 at 10am with Miss Pippi!

The library will be closed July 4th for Independence Day, but we'll be back to our regular summer hours on Thursday July 5th.  Our Dream Big: Read summer programming continues Monday July 9th with Story Sparklers and Wednesday July 11th with a Randy Peterson concert! Have a great holiday & we'll see you soon!
