Hip, Hip, Hippopotamus!

Horray for Hippopotami! Hippos are large and in charge animals. It is fun to stomp around like a hippopotamus. Although it might be a little scary to have a real hippopotamus visit the library! Such a large creature could create havoc in the library.

Hippos love to play games in our storytime books. They liked to play hide-and-seek in Africa. They also liked to jump on the bed, which got them in trouble with their mom and the doctor. What a bunch of silly hippos!

Our friends from Banta shared a fabulous craft project with us after storytime. Everyone made hippopotamus puppets! Thank you, Banta!
