Voter ID

As of October 9, 2014, the U.S. Supreme Court has blocked Wisconsin's law requiring voter ID at the polls.

This means you will not need a photo ID to vote on November 4, 2014.

Voter Registration

If you have not voted before, you changed your name since last voting, or you moved since last voting, you must register to vote.  You may register to vote on the same day as you cast your ballot.  If you have a valid driver's license or state ID, you must provide that number.  If you don't have one of those, you must provide the last four digits of your social security number.  If you have none of those, you may still vote.  You must be at least 18 years old on Election Day and a U.S. citizen.

To register to vote, you will need proof of residence.  If your ID is up-to-date, that is all you need.  If it is not, bring along a current utility bill, pay statement, bank statement, or tax bill.  These may be electronic.  Students--present your school ID and a tuition receipt from this semester or last semester.

You must reside at your voting address for at least 28 days before Election Day; if you have not, you may still be able to vote at your previous Wisconsin address.  If you have been convicted of a felony, you must have fulfilled all of the conditions of your sentence.
