Programs for all ages to help beat the cold winter blues!
Winter Reading Program for Adults and Teens!
Got the wintertime blues and a bad case of cabin fever? Well, beat those blues and cure the fever with Menasha Public Library’s mid-winter library program beginning February 1, 2010! The program will run from Feb. 1st thru Feb. 28th. No registration is required.
You may enter every time you check out materials. Anyone ages twelve and older may enter. Ask for an entry form when you check out for a chance to win the weekly “Reel & Meal Deal” prize drawing. Prizes include two tickets to the Fox Cinema and a gift certificate towards a meal at a local Menasha restaurant.
The drawing will be at 4 pm on Saturday afternoon. If you have any questions regarding the rules or requirements of the contest please ask at the Reference Desk, or call 967-3690.
Winter Reading for Children
The Children’s Department will run a four week free community winter reading encouragement program beginning Monday, January 11 and running through Saturday, February 6. Children age three through fifth grade are encouraged to read, be read to, visit the library, go to programs, and check out books.
Every child will receive a “Chill Out and Read” folder to use during the program. Readers who read and check out books at the library will receive a sticker and a small prize each week they come into the library with their brochure initialed by a parent. If they collect two or more stickers in four weeks, they will receive a free paperback book of their choice the week after the program ends (Sunday, February 7-13). Children can stop in at the Children’s Dept. beginning January 4 to pick up their reading folders and start to warm up their winter with a good book.
