Yesterday afternoon, we celebrated the Hina Matsuri Festival with over 30 of our library friends along with students and teachers from Clovis Grove right here in the Children's Room! This festival is also known as the Doll Festival or Girl's Day in Japan!
Students from Clovis Grove showed participants how to create origami projects and use chopsticks with play sushi. Kids were also able to create their own paper Japanese dolls and play with unique Japanese toys! The festivities concluded with filling our display case with our collection of Japanese dolls! Participants got to place the dolls into the case to create a lovely display of our collection! Thank you to everyone who came to our celebration yesterday and to the students and teachers from Clovis Grove who shared their knowledge of Japanese culture with us here at the library!
