The Next Chapter BookClub
Children in grades 3-6 are invited to join the “Next Chapter Book Club” for mothers and daughters and the “Page Turners Book Club” for fathers and sons. The clubs will meet monthly to talk about a book read the previous month. The first meetings will be in the Children’s Dept. on Saturday, June 7 - 10:00 – 11:00 am for the father/son Page Turners Club and 11:00 a.m.-noon for the mother/daughter Next Chapter Club. After snacks and an ice breaker/getting to know you game, the first chapter of a book will be read aloud: Peppermints in the Parlor by Barbara Brooks Wallace for the Next Chapter kids and The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis for the Page Turners kids. Participants will then take a copy home to finish for July’s book discussion. This club is a joint effort between the Lisa and Tom Wood and the library and gives kids the opportunity to read and talk about one book each month.
