The library is welcoming applications for part-time Library Assistant to work 10 to 14 hours per week, mostly nights and weekends. This is a non-exempt, non-benefited position with a starting rate of $12.36/hour. Responsibilities and job requirements are listed on this job description; they include:
Checking out materials at the Circulation Desk, collecting fines, issuing library cards.
Answering a telephone, helping library patrons with their library accounts.
Emptying the book drops and checking in materials.
Checking materials for completeness and damage.
Routing materials for van delivery.
Processing and shelving holds, gathering items with holds and routing them appropriately, maintaining the patron database, searching for missing items.
Preparing materials for shelving; shelving materials.
Searching for requested materials.
Library Assistants are friendly, energetic, and customer-service-focused. They have good math and computer skills and the ability to lift 50 pounds and push a cart weighing 300 pounds.
