Take this class to understand the basics of using Word to create letters, flyers, brochures, invitations, etc. Tasks presented will include opening a new document, formatting pages, printing, and, saving the file.
Spell check, cutting & pasting, inserting pictures and tables will help the student create a customized document - the sky's the limit! This class will be held in the Activity Room.

Baby Stay and Play
The storytimes will be presented Tuesday evenings and will feature twenty minutes of sweet stories, rollicking rhymes, and merry music. Today you need an email account to do just about everything online: reserve a hotel room, apply for a job, participate in chat or instant messaging, bid on auction items, belong to listservs and more.
In this class you will learn how to sign up for a free e-mail account, how to compose messages, send mail, and "reply" to and "forward" messages. We'll talk about folders, storage, attachments and some of the precautions everyone needs to know when communicating electronically.

Are you computer illiterate? This class will teach you the very basics: turning on the computer, using the mouse, and getting started with Windows.
Hands-on experience will help ease any fears you may have regarding computers. This class is intended for those wtih little or no computer experience. Class will be held in the Activity Room, Lower Level of the Library.

Kids, Design A Bookmark Kick-off!
Children ages 3-10 are invited to "Design-a-Bookmark" for the Menasha Public Library Children's Department! Beginning on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14), kids can pick up an official "I Love the Library" bookmark form to draw a full-color picture of the library, books, a favorite character or anything that they love about the library.
Completed forms can be returned to the library by Saturday, March 1. Three designs will be chosen from those submitted to be made into bookmarks to be given away to the public during National Library Week, April 13-19! For additional information, contact the Children's Department at 967-3670.

Learn how to search the catalog and maximize use of your library card. See how you can locate DVDs, CDs, books, magazines and more by using keyword searching and date-specific, age-specific limiters!
Also, we will show you just why your library card is the most important card in your wallet! Learn how to renew books online, place holds on materials in other Winnefox libraries or those checked out from the Menasha Public Library. Your card can also hook you up to books outside the Winnefox system, electronic books, and databases covering health, legal, biographical and business information. This class will be held in the Activity Room, Lower Level.

Hometown Hero Night
Children in grades K-5 and their families are invited to meet hometown hero Edward Hall. Hall, who served in the 1157th Transportation Unit out of Oshkosh in Iraq for the past year will show kids his equipment and tell about his life serving in Iraq. After his presentation, we'll make cards for other service members serving overseas. This program, part of the Shoot for the Stars-Read! community-wide winter reading program, is free and perfect for kids in grades K-5. We are launching a multi-year, early literacy program called 1000 Books Before Kindergarten beginning today. Using Eric Carle's Very Hungry Caterpillar as theme and mascot, this program is an on-going, multiyear project to encourage parents to read aloud 1000 books with their children before they enter school.

Hina Matsuri Festival, also known as Doll Festival and Girl's Day in Japan, will be celebrated in the Children's Department.
