Menasha High School Band


The Menasha High School Blue Jay Brigade
will be performing under the direction of Kevin Plekan, the band earned the honor of being one of only seven bands chosen nationwide to perform at the half-time show of the 2008 BCS Bowl Game in New Orleans. Come hear this talented group as they present their rocking BCS music--including The Final Countdown and Eye of the Tiger--and tell about their experience at the Superdome. "Community Blood Drive"
The Community Blood Center will conduct a Blood Drive at the Library on Monday, January 28th, from 3 - 6 pm. Walk-ins are always welcome!! However, scheduling an appointment in advance helps ensure a speedy donation for all.

Call the Reference Desk at 967-3690, to reserve a time. A person never knows when he, or someone he loves, is going to need blood. It may be YOU!

Read to a Dog

During "Read Off Your Fines Week", you can read to a real dog! One to three dogs will be available for kids to read to Monday and Thursday between 5:00 and 6:00 pm.  A furry canine will listen patiently as children read aloud to them in a relaxed environment designed to help improve reading skills and confidence in children.

Baby Stay and Play Registration Begins

Registration begins Monday, February 4.

Bring in Baby for twenty minutes of sweet stories, rollicking rhymes, and merry music. Stay for playtime and pizza afterwards. We'll provide toys for Baby and pizza for the adults. Perfect for babies birth-24 months and their parents/caregivers.

"Double-click" on this class if you are interested in learning how to surf the 'Net!

Beginning computer users will be provided with an introduction to the Internet and all of its parts. Learn about web browsers, web sites, search engines, and all the tools you'll need to effectively access and navigate the Internet.

Celebrate Carnivale!


Carnivale will be celebrated with the Vale Todo Salsa Band in the Co E. Room. This twelve piece Latin band of Lawrence University students features a blend of trumpets, sax, percussion, piano, horn, and vocals. Dessert will be served in the Children's Department Spanish Language book collection area following the concert.

Kids, Design A Bookmark Kick-off!


Children ages 3-10 are invited to "Design-a-Bookmark" for the Menasha Public Library Children's Department! Beginning on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14), kids can pick up an official "I Love the Library" bookmark form to draw a full-color picture of the library, books, a favorite character or anything that they love about the library.

Completed forms can be returned to the library by Saturday, March 1. Three designs will be chosen from those submitted to be made into bookmarks to be given away to the public during National Library Week, April 13-19! For additional information, contact the Children's Department at 967-3670.
