Preschool Players Return

Register for this theater experience (see October 22 for registration information and form).
A special three weeks theater experience for kids ages 3-5 who are ready to be on their own and in a play! We'll have play practice, learn basic stage directions and present the play Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock on Nov 12 (during book week) for parents and the public.

Ratatouille DVD & Dessert Extravaganza

The whole family is invited to see Pixar's latest creation, Ratatouille-and bring in one of your own creations, too. Each family is asked to provide a favorite dessert to share in honor of Remy, the Rat Chef star of the film. Satisfy your sweet tooth as you watch the adventures of Remy and bumbling chef Linguini as they turn the culinary world upside-down. "Email"

Today you need an email account to do just about everything online:  reserve a hotel room, apply for a job, participate in chat or instant messaging, bid on auction items, belong to listservs and more. 

In this class you will learn how to sign up for a free e-mail account, how to compose  messages, send mail, and "reply" to and "forward" messages.  We'll talk about folders, storage, attachments and some of the precautions everyone needs to know when communicating electronically.

Sicko

On Saturday, November 10th at 1:30 the library will be showing the Michael Moore documentary Sicko, which explores some of the problems of the health care system. This will be followed by a discussion moderated by UW-Oshkosh faculty Martin Gruberg and Vivian Foss. Dr. Gruberg is a professor in the Department of Political Science who has taught courses on the politics of health care. Dr. Foss is an instructor in the Department of English. This event will be featured in the November issue of the Valley Scene as part of an article on the health care system. Copies of the Valley Scene are available at the library or online at http://www.scenenewspaper.com/.  This is a free event open to the public.  The event will be held in the Company E Room in the lower level of the library.  Light refreshments will be served.
