Recently, the United Stated hosted a census to take a snapshot of life in America. The census was in 2010. On April 2nd, the US National Archives released the 1940 census records! They are available online with the help of Archives.com. It can be a little daunting to jump right into the middle of 3.8 million images, scanned from over 4,000 rolls of microfilm. The library owns several versions of classic folk and fairytales. We also own re-written stories of classic tales. Our friends at the Arrowhead Library System shared an amazing article about 500 new fairytales discovered in Germany. The collection of fairytales was owned by historian Franz Xaver von Schönwerth (1810-1886).
