The Children's Room proudly presents the Isabel Brich Early Literacy Kits available at Menasha Public Library. Each kit is housed in a blue bag and shelved next to our Playaways (across from the Dino books in Non-Fiction). Each kit contains an assortment of books, CDs, fingerplays and early literacy tips. Currently, twenty-one kits are availabe for checkout. If you would like to see which kits are availabe, type "Isabel Brich Early Literacy Kits" in the search box on the online catalog. We can't wait to share these kits with your students and your families.

April is National Poetry Month! Book Links Magazine shared a poetry game you can use in your classroom. The object of the game is to start with one poem and connect it to another poem. In essence, you will be creating a chain of poems that connect to one another.

Resources, resources, resources. Guides, study questions, background information. Where does one go for such information!? The library is one great resources if you're available to come. Libraries have biographies, resource books, study guides, internet access, videos and more. Sometimes discussions happen at the spur of the moment. It isn't possible to drive somewhere, research a topic, find the book and return to the classroom. Publishing companies have greatly assisted researchers and questioners.

Scholastic Publishers created a resources guide about Reading Levels. They charted three systems: Scholastic Guided Reading Level, DRA Level and Lexile Level.

They asked actors, actresses, authors, teachers, librarians and YOU!
