We love fruit! We love bananas!

Bananas are yellow. They grow in trees. Monkeys like to eat them. But you can't keep a banana as a pet!

We got to be bananas in storytime while reading about Gladys and Monkey who loved to eat bananas. We also went to the jungle and found a banana tree! It's Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss's birthday!

We celebrated by reading a birthday book and easy readers by Mo Willems. Mo Willems has won the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award twice so we read two of his fabulous books. We also celebrated with a special birthday song by Tom Pease & Stuart Stotts and a funny song about wrinkly elephants by Colleen & Uncle Squaty. What a fun way to celebrate learning to read. Thank you, Dr. Seuss for creating great books!

Join us at the library this Saturday for more Seussical nonsensical fun at our Dr. Seuss party with the Neenah Menasha Red Cross Youth Committee. The event is Saturday, March 6th at 1:00-2:00pm. We hope to see you there!

Winter is a time that many people - big and little - get sick! It's never fun, but the best part is feeling better. We sang songs about bundling up to keep the cold out and about funny monkeys who needed to go to the doctor. We met Imogene and Felix who had some interesting illnesses. But most importantly, our friends gathered together to enjoy reading fun while feeling fine!
