Have you ever observed the weather? A scientist you watches the weather and the atmosphere is called meterologist. The study of the atmosphere and the weather is meterology. We created a weather page to add to your Summer Science Notebook. The activity page includes a short list of non-fiction and fiction books to read, weather observation questions and a weather prediction chart.

The library's Summer Reading Program is under the theme Fizz Boom Read! We're so excited for a Science Theme Summer!!

In celebration of Fizz Boom Read, the Children's Librarians are creating pages for young scientists to use over the summer and add to their own Science Notebook. Each week we hope to post a new page to print off for more science activities young scientist can do at home with a grown-up assistant. We'll list all our pages on this page: Summer Science 2014, but be on the lookout for individual pages posted on the blog.

During the months of June and July, the library is running a special Family Story Time program called Story Sparklers! Our first story time happened on Monday, June 9. Our Fizz Boom Read theme for the day was WEATHER. We shared some great books and sang a song about weather and danced like ducks in rain! If you are interested in weather books, check out the 551's in Non-Fiction.
