During the months of June and July, the library is running a special Family Story Time program called Story Sparklers! Our first story time happened on Monday, June 9. Our Fizz Boom Read theme for the day was WEATHER. We shared some great books and sang a song about weather and danced like ducks in rain! If you are interested in weather books, check out the 551's in Non-Fiction.
During the month of May, the Children's Room hosts a special story time celebrating the season of Spring! This year at Preschool Planters Story Time, we talked about stems and sticks, leaves, and flowers. During story time, we read books about each theme and danced to some Jim Gill music. After story time we enjoyed activities that followed our theme. The first week we drew flowers on stems, the second week we create tree pictures from torn paper, and the final week we planted our secret garden.
April 30th is Dia Day, a yearly celebration of books, kids, and reading.
We celebrated Dia Day or Children's Day/Book Day with La Cuentista Lista, Kay Weeden. We spent our morning listening, telling stories, and even dancing. Thanks to all the BDM and Trinity classes that came to visit for this special bilingual event - we had a great time!
