Happy first day of Spring!

Spring on into the Library to find a great book about Spring. We have a special display in the back of the Children's Room. The spines have a bright green sticker that reads SPR or Spring.

Today rounds off an excellent week of articles, interviews, advice and stories about literacy. Today featured stories of what the future holds for literacy. Some of the topics disccussed were podcasts, audiobooks, ebooks and so much more! Check out the Share a Story - Shape a Future blog.

When I first started reading books aloud, I was a bit nervous. Would I be loud enough? Could I pronounce all the words correctly? Would the group actually listen? Yes, yes and maybe. If I'm quiet, I use a bit more power. If I fumble a word, I laught it off and move on. If they're not listening, maybe the story is a dud today or maybe it's a full moon. I finish the book and move on to the next activity.
