It's summertime at the Menasha Public Library! We pulled our summer books and started our summer hours. What new hours!? Yes, new hours! We'll be open the usual hours from Monday to Friday, but we'll be open 9am to 1pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. The Summer Reading Program also begins next month. We're so excited! We'll be getting creative @ our library all summer long. Sign up in the Children's Room begins June 8th.

To kick off your own summer reading, here are a couple summer reading suggestions...

After a brief rain Thursday evening, I wandered outdoors to discover ducks under a tree! I always know Spring has returned when the ducks appear.

To read more about ducks, come on into the library and check out our bird section in Non-Fiction under the numbers...

598.4. We also have the Ducktales television series in our Children's Room DVD section!

We finished our garden storytime with reading about rascals! Many creatures visit the garden including rabbits, bugs and people. We sang about Little Peter Rabbit and Bumblebees. Oh what fun it is to learn about gardens! Checkout some more great garden books by coming into the Children's Room at the Menasha Public Library. We have a special display in the back about gardens!

The summer reading program is just around the corner! The librarians have been busy visiting with students around the school district to get them jazzed up about reading this summer. Our theme is Get Creative @ Your Library. Here are a few of my favorite creative books...

We celebrated a sunny day with a storytime about rain! Rain and water are important for flowers and plants to grow. We even planted a water garden with corn, carrots and tomatoes. Next week we'll be able to see how big they can grow in water.

We have great...

rainy day songs at the library. Come on in and check out a fun CD to listen to in the car or at home!

Raffi's Rise and Shine with the "Ducks Like Rain" song

Barney's Favorite with "The Ants Go Marching" and "If All the Raindrops" song
