Our nation's birthday is coming up at the end of this week! We celebrated music and America at storytime today. The first book we read together was a brand new book, not yet on the shelf - Pippa at the Parade by Karen Roosa illustrated by Julie Fortenberry.

The Children's Librarians at Menasha Public Library have begun their 40 Book Reading Challenge. We've posted our lists on the glass display case in the front of the room if you'd like to take a peek. Here are a couple books that I have finished in the last week or so...

Sunday brought a new season to the year and a celebration of Fatherhood. Two great dad books are What Dads Can't Do by Douglas Wood and If I Were Your Father by Margaret Park Bridges.

One challenge done and another ready to go! It's the Forty Books Challenge at the Menasha Public Library. Students in grades K-5 are encouraged to read 40 books during the Be Creative @ Your Library Reading Program this summer. From early readers to novel enthusists, it's not an easy task, but it's a great goal!

I plan to read at least 40 books this summer, so far...
