We're over half-way through our summer reading program Get Creative @ You Library!

Are you searching for more great books to read over the summer? If you're online check out, NoveList or our booklist pages. If you're stopping in to the Children's Room you can hunt up some bookmark reading lists! All over the Children's Room, we have booklists printed up on bookmarks of various colors.

These words come from a traditional song called "The Spirit Song." It goes on to talk about singing, laughing, playing, shouting, jumping and back to dancing. It's a great song to celebrate our summer theme Get Creative @ Your Library and our storytime theme today - Dance!

In May, the Children's Room hosted Let's Grow Garden Stories Storytime. The first day of the garden storytime series, we planted a secret garden. We have exciting news. Our flowers are blooming! Stop by the library and check out your hardwork. You did a great job and flowers are beautiful!

One page out of three total pages is complete with books I have read for the 40 Book Challenge. My focus was books from the Childrens Room and a few from the Teen section.

Our nation's birthday is coming up at the end of this week! We celebrated music and America at storytime today. The first book we read together was a brand new book, not yet on the shelf - Pippa at the Parade by Karen Roosa illustrated by Julie Fortenberry.
