Sunday brought a new season to the year and a celebration of Fatherhood. Two great dad books are What Dads Can't Do by Douglas Wood and If I Were Your Father by Margaret Park Bridges.

...fabulous, glorious, terrific, incredible, remarkable, splendid, magnificent!  I am glad that you are you and I am me. Everyone is special and there is no one like you in the entire world!

One challenge done and another ready to go! It's the Forty Books Challenge at the Menasha Public Library. Students in grades K-5 are encouraged to read 40 books during the Be Creative @ Your Library Reading Program this summer. From early readers to novel enthusists, it's not an easy task, but it's a great goal!

I plan to read at least 40 books this summer, so far...

What a weekend! I don't think I have read so many books in one sitting. My emotions were to the extremes of sleepiness, happiness, wakefulness and crankiness. Would I do this challenge again? I am not certain. I'm cheering myself to "yes, yes, YES," but also shouting, "Are you nuts!?" I would encourage everyone to try it at least once. It's a great experience to test your reading strength.

Now the final counts...

An afternoon of reading in the rain next to a fireplace.

Zorgamazoo by Robert Paul Weston

This was just a fun story to follow. It's a complete story in rhyme! Round of applause for Robert Paul Weston. I would also recommend this book as a read-a-loud or forensics piece.

The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick
