Our summer theme is Dream Big: READ! We learned the ASL signs for Dream Big: READ and enjoyed some sleepy stories. Our first book featured a little owl who did not want to stay up late. We read another book about an owl who stayed up all night and observed other animals sleeping. We enjoyed two songs: one about crazy animals dreams and another song about sleeping fish.
During storytime on Monday, we learned about objects that were shiny. July 4th showcases many shiny objects including fireworks! We talked about how to identify objects that are shiny or things that shine like the sun or gold and silver.
Our Story Sparklers Family Storytime theme this week was camping! We read about ducks and dogs who went on a camping trip. The animals also went fishing and didn't catch a fish to keep. Afterwards we pretended to be fish and swim around the storyroom! What a fantastic day to be at storytime. Next week, Miss Liz will share stories on Monday at 10am. We hope to see you there!
On Monday, we hosted our first Story Sparklers Family Storytime session! We focused on nocturnal animals, particularly the raccoon. The raccoon sleeps during the day and hunts for food during the night. Did you know that raccoons wash their food before they eat it? Pretty cool!
