Summer is my favorite time of year because it's the season of Summer Reading Programs! You can find reading programs at the library, at school, online and even bookstores! It's a great time of year. This weekend kicks off my summer reading marathon. I'll be posting all summer about the books I read.
Summer reading programs are just around the corner and are you ready to read? I have begun the search for books and tend to stack them all over my room, my desk, my car... It's always good to be prepared! The first reading adventure of the summer is the 48-Hour Reading Challenge sponsored by MotherReader. My weekend is cleared and I have set aside over 50 books to read. I am revisiting classics, rereading favorites and reviewing the new.
It's summertime at the Menasha Public Library! We pulled our summer books and started our summer hours. What new hours!? Yes, new hours! We'll be open the usual hours from Monday to Friday, but we'll be open 9am to 1pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. The Summer Reading Program also begins next month. We're so excited! We'll be getting creative @ our library all summer long. Sign up in the Children's Room begins June 8th.
To kick off your own summer reading, here are a couple summer reading suggestions...
We finished our garden storytime with reading about rascals! Many creatures visit the garden including rabbits, bugs and people. We sang about Little Peter Rabbit and Bumblebees. Oh what fun it is to learn about gardens! Checkout some more great garden books by coming into the Children's Room at the Menasha Public Library. We have a special display in the back about gardens!
