Breakfast is the meal that begins the day! Since we started a new Tuesday story time session, a theme about breakfast is a great way to begin! We started with a bacon book featuring Charlie the Ranch Dog then moved onto egg books.
This week at our Story Sparklers Family Story Time was talked about another burrowing animal - porcupines! Did you know that some porcupines can also climb trees!? Porcupines are pretty neat! We shared stories about Percy the porcupine and how to hug a porcupine. We also enjoyed some moving music about clapping and jumping.
It's the third week of Story Sparklers Family Story Time! On Monday, we talked about another underground critter: moles! We read books about a mole who visited his friend rabbit, mole sisters who drew a picture in a cave, and a story about a naked mole rat.
The month of May brought the final book talk and school visit to After School Matters. We shared some classic authors like Mo Willems and Melanie Watts as well as new authors including Molly Idle and Liesl Shurtliff. School is wrapping up, but the library is gearing up for summer reading! Come on in and join the Dig Into Reading fun on June 10th!
