Last night, Menasha Muggles enjoyed a rendezous at Hogwarts (disguised inside Menasha Public Library). The special event to celebrate the final Harry Potter film: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2, began after hours at 6pm. The evening started by sorting out the lads and lasses into the correct houses - Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
We've already had tons of fun here at the library this week - on Monday we used our imaginations to travel all the way to Australia in story time and on Tuesday, a representative from Heckrodt Wetland Reserve visited the library to teach us about pelicans! Yesterday we started our "On the Road Again" field trip series with a trip to the Barlow Planetarium! It's another exciting week in the Children's Room! After a long weekend to celebrate the 4th of July, we were back yesterday with our Wednesday afternoon program! This week Mary Tooley visited us with her Art in a Suitcase program! We traveled off to the African savannah where we learned about all kinds of African animals like elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, ostriches and even the black mamba snake! We even got to practice our folding and observation skills by making origami cheetahs! What a great afternoon!

Our July calendar of events is full of fun. You can still sign-up for the Summer Reading Program and earn prizes for all the books you read. We're hosting Family Storytime on Mondays at 10am. Our special programs this month are Mary Tooley: Art in a Suitcase on July 6th at 1:30pm, a Visit from Heckrodt on July 12th at 1:30pm and a Harry Potter Party on July 15 at 6pm. It's going to be great!
Yesterday afternoon was another great afternoon to be at the library! We welcomed Mike Schnieder and his Pint Size Polka program back to the library for some fun music, dancing, and even a little bit of learning!
