Take a close look around the library. We've got bugs in our garden! 'Tis the season for spiders weaving webs in windows. It's also the perfect time to see moths and butterflies flitting about the yard. Some butterflies land on the blooms from our secret garden we planted in May. Take a moment to take a look. If you see no insect activity, stop by for an insect book - spider books can be found in the 595's and butterflies can be found in the 595.7's. Happy hunting!

Today at the library, we had a special visitor! Heather from Heckrodt Wetland Reserve came to the library! She shared Wetland Wonders with us. It was fasinating to hear about Wisconsin's swamp friends. Thank you, Heather! If you'd like to learn more about wetlands, stop in at Heckrodt or Menasha Public Library.

Next week is Island Movie week! All week long we are sharing island movies. Movies begin at 1:30pm in the storyroom. The movies chosen are for elementary students (Kindergarten to 5th Grade.)

Milwaukee native Mike Schneider shared his fantastic polka music with us on Wednesday, August 11th. He is an award winning entertainer and musician. It was a pleasure to have him visit us at Menasha!

Make a Splash READ is coming to a close in the Children's Room. If you have a reading slip at home, finish your seven checks or more and come on in! You can spin the prize wheel for all the hardwork you did over the summer or over the last week. We'd love to see you. Remember, every slip returned brings your MJSD school closer to winning the trophy for your school! We'd love to see you at the library.

On Wednesday, we're hosting Mike Schneider in Concert! He'll be presenting Pint Size Polkas. Come on over and join the fun! The concert begins at 1:30pm on Wednesday, August 11th.

Poppet the dog comes to storytime at Menasha Public Library! Karen Cove, author of Poppet Finds a Home, Poppet Goes on Vacation and Poppet Goes to the Vet, read to our families during storytime. Afterwards, we got to meet the real Poppet shake paws.
