Spring is (almost) here after a very long winter! For those of you eager to get outside as soon as it warms up, here are some of my favorite online resources for trail information in the Fox Cities and elsewhere in Wisconsin:

The Menasha Public Library will be participating in the 2008 Fox Cities Reads program featuring two titles from acclaimed author Alice Hoffman: Blackbird House and Green Angel. Alice will be appearing at the Appleton Public Library on April 17th and at the Neenah Public Library on April 18th. We will be holding discussions here for both titles. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for sale at the Circulation desk. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Menasha Public Library. To reserve a copy of either book, please contact the Reference Desk (967-3690).
Have you ever wanted to research your family history but didn't know where to begin? The Menasha Public Library is pleased to offer access to two online resources that allow you to research your family history from home. All you need is a library card!
HeritageQuest offers access to a wealth of genealogical information, including the federal census, the Periodical Source Index and thousands of local and family history books from around the country.
Newspaper Archive is a fully searchable database of newspapers from around the country dating as far back as the mid 1700s.
Both of these resources are available through the library's webpage at http://www.menashalibrary.org/research/databasesaz. If you have any questions, please contact us at mpl_ref@menashalibrary.org or 920-967-3690.
